Urban parking regulation and infrastructure updates

Overview

Municipalities in Jihlava, Czech Republic, and Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, have introduced new parking regulations. In Jihlava, new rules for mid-September include 30 minutes of free parking once every 24 hours in specific zones, with additional free hours for seniors aged 65 and older.

In Banja Luka, parking fees have resumed. While supplementary parking tickets have been abolished, non-payment still results in fines of 50 KM. Vehicles with foreign license plates are subject to wheel clamping, which requires a 30 KM fee to resolve.

Parallel to these regulatory changes, Banja Luka is executing a city-wide infrastructure project to mark over 10,000 parking spaces throughout 2026. This includes the recent marking of approximately 1,500 spaces in the Borik neighborhood, following completed work in the city center. Expansion of the marking project is scheduled for the Centar, Obilićevo, and Rosulje neighborhoods.
