The Partido Colorado announced plans to interpellate Minister of Labor and Social Security Juan Castillo regarding an ongoing conflict at the Port of Montevideo. Deputy Adrián Juri noted that the proposal to hold the interpellation in October had gained consensus among several opposition parties, including the Partido Nacional, Partido Independiente, Cabildo Abierto, and Identidad Soberana. While a preliminary agreement was reached between the Terminal Cuenca del Plata (TCP) company and labor unions, the opposition sought to address the dispute alongside broader national labor issues. In early October, Minister Castillo postponed a scheduled hearing before the Senate's Transport and Public Works Commission. The Ministry cited “agenda issues” and the ongoing finalization of a new collective agreement as reasons for the delay.
