US-Albania law enforcement cooperation

Overview

Law enforcement officials from the United States, Albania, and various international agencies have engaged in high-level training and security summits. In the United States, the 299th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, concluded with the graduation of 265 officials from 30 countries.

Concurrently, Tirana hosted the 42nd European chapter meeting of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) from September 19 to 23, 2026. The summit focused on critical security issues including terrorism, cybercrime, narcotics, and illegal migration.

During the Tirana meetings, reports indicated that files from Washington were provided to Albania’s Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure (SPAK). These materials reportedly involve Albanian drug trafficking groups in Latin America that coordinate cocaine shipments to Europe. The U.S. Embassy in Tirana emphasized that the partnership aims to strengthen law enforcement and community safety.
