Technical requirements for the CCA include a heavy weapons capacity of up to five tons, with a cost ceiling of $30 million per unit. The Navy requires these unmanned platforms to be compatible with catapult launches and arrested landings.

In a related technological push, the Navy is also progressing with the deployment of the AGM-88G AARGM-ER, an extended-range anti-radiation missile. This missile, designed to target advanced air defense systems, will be integrated into the F-35 Lightning II, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, and EA-18G Growler to enhance carrier-based strike capabilities.
