U.S. News hospital rankings

U.S. News & World Report’s Honor Roll continued to recognize leading U.S. hospitals in August 2026. Houston Methodist Hospital secured its 10th appearance on the Honor Roll, remaining the No. 1 hospital in Texas for the 15th straight year and marking its 34th consecutive year with at least one specialty ranking. The hospital was listed in 11 specialties, with six in the national top‑20, including gastroenterology, obstetrics, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology and cancer.

In the same release, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago was again placed on the Honor Roll for a 15th consecutive year, keeping its national rankings in ten specialties and tying for the top regional spot in Illinois. The hospital added new regional rankings for cancer, cardiology, heart‑vascular surgery and orthopaedics. The Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah earned an A+ rating from Money, was named the #1 cancer hospital in Utah and the Salt Lake City metro area, and received a “High Performing” designation from U.S. News in multiple cancer specialties. The institute’s parent system, University of Utah Health, was recognized as the top health system in its region for the 13th year.
