In July 2026 the United States suspended the 35 % duty on most Serbian exports, setting the rate at zero for at least six months while a bilateral strategic dialogue proceeds. On 25 July 2026 the United States formally eliminated the 35 % duty, confirming the zero‑tariff period will run for at least six months and that the tariff may be set at 10‑12 % after the strategic dialogue concludes. The United States retains targeted restrictions on certain products, such as copper, over forced‑labour concerns. Analysts expect the relief to boost Serbian manufacturers’ competitiveness, improve Serbia’s credit rating, increase U.S. exports to Serbia and create jobs.
