University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) athletic programs have reported several recent achievements across multiple sports.
In volleyball, the Vaqueros maintained an undefeated record in Southland Conference play following a 3-0 sweep of the Lamar Cardinals, extending a winning streak to nine matches. The women’s golf team, featuring Southland Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week Avery Glanzer, prepared for the Diamante Intercollegiate in Arkansas. In swimming and diving, the team set three program records during a meet against New Mexico, highlighted by Manou Meulebeek sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
In men’s soccer, UTRGV played to a 1-1 draw against the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Cardinals. The result allowed UTRGV to complete its first unbeaten home season since 1997, finishing with a 1-0-5 home record.
