Political tensions in Uttar Pradesh have intensified as government ministers and allies launch verbal attacks against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav. Minister OP Rajbhar has repeatedly criticized Yadav, mocking his 2027 election prospects and advising him to focus on managing his ‘I-N-D-I alliance’ and internal party issues. Rajbhar dismissed the possibility of an SP victory, mockingly suggesting Yadav should prepare for a government in his ‘next life’ rather than 2027. He further challenged Yadav to prove his sincerity by promising to appoint a Muslim Deputy Chief Minister if the party returns to power, while also questioning the party’s past record on communal riots and law and order. In response, Akhilesh Yadav has shifted focus toward grassroots issues. In Saharanpur, he addressed sugarcane farmers, promising that an SP government would ensure payments are transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts within 24 to 48 hours of ~~sale.
