Vanessa Huber, a 39-year-old woman from Bavaria, has been missing since November 2022 following a dispute with her husband, Tobias Huber, who died in 2024. While authorities previously considered foul play, suicide, or drowning, no concrete evidence of a crime was found regarding her husband.

In early August 2026, the investigation saw a potential development when witnesses reported seeing a woman matching Huber’s description near Rostock-Warnemünde on the Baltic Sea coast. Police secured video footage and stated, “Diesen Hinweisen wird derzeit mit Hochdruck nachgegangen,” indicating they were pursuing the leads with high priority.

However, following an urgent tip, police intercepted a woman on a beach who resembled Huber. The Rostock Police Headquarters later confirmed that the woman was not Vanessa Huber, effectively concluding the recent reports that had briefly renewed interest in the case.
