Venezuela has continued diplomatic re‑engagement begun in 2024 with its neighbours. After a two‑year suspension of relations that started when Chile questioned triggered by Chile’s concerns over the transparency of Venezuela’s 2024 elections, Chile and Venezuela announced on 30 July 2026 the re‑activation of consular services as the first phase of a joint roadmap to normalize ties.
