Overview

Venezuelan institutions have begun adjusting administrative working hours to comply with a national energy and water saving plan. The measures are being implemented in response to the El Niño climate phenomenon.

The Service for Identification, Migration and Foreigners (Saime) has announced specific schedule reductions for offices in Caracas, Aragua, and Lara. In the capital, some locations will operate only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while others will work from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In Aragua, the La Victoria office will limit hours to 12:30 p.m. for passport collection, and the Jacinto Lara office in Lara will also adopt a morning-only schedule.

In the southern region, municipal governments in Guanipa and Simón Rodríguez have implemented interday work schemes for staff, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Essential services, such as public safety, health, and basic utilities, are expected to maintain regular schedules to ensure community coverage.
