Venezuela free medical services expansion

In July 2026 municipal authorities in Falcón and Zulia states organized health days that provided paediatric check‑ups, maternal supplements, free medication, nutrition aid and a range of surgeries, including cataract, cleft‑lip, cardiovascular catheterisations and pacemaker implants. The programmes were coordinated with regional and national health ministries and local charities to deliver cost‑free care to vulnerable residents.

By early August, Zulia’s state government launched a dedicated free cardiovascular catheterisation initiative, treating 48 patients and planning to evaluate over a hundred more. The Plan Corazón Zuliano, supported by the national health ministry, regional health authority and a private clinic, extended the free‑care model to include pediatric cardiology and aimed to broaden preventive health measures.

Together, the snapshots illustrate a continued rollout of free medical services across Venezuelan municipalities and states, expanding both the geographic reach and the range of procedures offered to the population.
