Victoria infrastructure project progress

Overview

Major road infrastructure projects in Victoria, Australia, are reportedly tracking approximately six months ahead of their projected completion dates.

In the Wallan region, the $175 million Watson Street Interchange and Northern Highway Intersection upgrades are progressing rapidly. The Watson Street project, which is more than halfway complete, aims to establish a full diamond interchange connecting the Hume Freeway to the Wallan East industrial precinct. These works, alongside Northern Highway improvements, are intended to reduce congestion and improve safety for residents and freight operators.

Additionally, Stage Two of the $318.8 million Barwon Heads Road Upgrade is underway to accommodate increasing traffic in the Geelong, Armstrong Creek, and Bellarine regions. Stage Two-A, which includes intersection upgrades and extra lanes between Charlemont and Armstrong Creek, is expected to finish by mid-next year, also six months ahead of schedule. Stage Two-B is slated to begin in November, focusing on the area between Lake Road and the Lower Duneed Road roundabout.
