Vietnam-Belgium diplomatic and cultural cooperation

Vietnam and Belgium have engaged in various diplomatic and cultural exchanges focused on legislative cooperation and long-term bilateral partnerships.

A delegation from the National Assembly of Vietnam visited Belgium to discuss digital safety for minors, cultural heritage preservation, and the development of cultural industries. During meetings with the Belgian House of Representatives' Justice Committee, discussions focused on legal frameworks like the Digital Services Act and the General Data Protection Regulation to mitigate systemic risks and implement “safety by design” principles. The delegation also studied heritage conservation management in Bruges.

Concurrently, the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation marked 30 years of cooperation with Vietnam. This partnership has facilitated over 900 academic, scientific, and cultural projects, including scholarships and expert exchanges in fields such as higher education, medicine, and cinema. Future cooperation aims to address energy transition, community health, the digital economy, and cultural industries.
