Vietnam international audit workshop

Overview

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hosted international auditing organizations in Vietnam for a workshop titled ‘Supreme Audit Institutions in a New Context: Vision, Institutions, and Innovation.’ Organized by the State Audit Office of Vietnam, the event focused on international audit cooperation and innovation.

During the proceedings, Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that modern, transparent, and accountable governance is vital for Vietnam’s goal of becoming a high-income developed nation by 2045. He identified five core orientations for auditing bodies, noting that supreme audit institutions must serve as reliable pillars to maintain financial discipline, prevent corruption, and identify policy bottlenecks.

Tran Thanh Man stated that the value of auditing should be measured by positive changes in governance rather than solely by the amount of money recovered. He further stressed that institutional independence is a prerequisite for auditing bodies to protect public interests through objective and professional practice.
