In early July 2026 a Vietnamese fishing boat (QN‑90568‑TS) capsized near the Cô Tô Special Zone in Quảng Ninh province. Six of the seven crew members were rescued after a prolonged search in stormy conditions, while the captain, Nguyễn Văn Thành, remained missing.
