Vietnam provincial leadership appointments

Overview

Vietnam has undergone high-level political leadership changes in the provinces of Quảng Trị and Thái Nguyên.

In Thái Nguyên, the Prime Minister approved the dismissal of Vương Quốc Tuấn as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to facilitate his reassignment. Nguyen The Manh, formerly the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected as the new Chairman for the 2026–2031 term.

Following his reassignment, Vương Quốc Tuấn was appointed by the Politburo as the new Provincial Party Secretary for Quảng Trị for the 2025–2030 term. Bùi Hoàng Phương, the former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Quảng Trị Provincial Party Committee and introduced for election as the Chairman of the Quảng Trị Provincial People's Committee. Upon his appointment, Vương Quốc Tuấn requested that local organizations avoid formal congratulatory visits to “practice thrift and avoid waste,” suggesting that support be shown through the “effective implementation of political tasks.”
