Vietnam school year preparation and student support

As the 2026-2027 academic year begins in Vietnam, educational initiatives continue to focus on linguistic preparation, cultural enrichment, and material support for disadvantaged students.

In border regions, the Ministry of Education and Training has intensified support for boarding schools. At Thanh Nua Boarding School, reference books valued at 100 million VND were donated, while Sam Mun and Thanh Yen boarding schools each received 50 million VND worth of books through a collaboration with the Vietnam Education Publishing House. In the Da Nang region, the ‘Nâng bước em đến trường’ (Stepping with students to school) program, led by the Anong Border Guard Station, provided bicycles and essential supplies to students in the A Vuong and Tay Giang areas to alleviate financial hardships.

Cultural and skill-based programs remain a key component of student preparation. The ‘Sac Thu Tuu Truong’ program utilizes interactive spaces such as ‘Cham Hoi’, ‘Cham Sac’, and ‘Cham Su’ to engage children with folk games, traditional crafts like ceramics and Do paper, and Vietnamese folk paintings via augmented reality and podcasts.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the ‘Cung Tuoi Tho Den Truong’ festival, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Social Work Center, continues to provide scholarships and school supplies. The initiative also incorporates practical training, including self-defense lessons conducted by mobile police officers and environmental workshops focused on recycling.
