Vietnam technology and innovation development

Vietnam is actively promoting its strategic technology and innovation sectors through large-scale exhibitions and startup initiatives.

In September 2026, the TechFuture Strategic Technology Exhibition and Forum opened in Hanoi. The event featured nearly 600 booths from over 300 enterprises across Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and South Korea, focusing on high-tech sectors such as AI, robotics, semiconductors, clean energy, and electric vehicles. A specific section, UAV VIETNAM 2026, showcased unmanned aerial vehicles for civil and security applications.

During the same month, the country expanded its focus to industrial and environmental technology. Vietnam Water Week 2026 opened in Hanoi, emphasizing digital transformation to address climate change, urbanization, and resource scarcity. Experts noted that digital transformation must be “data-driven” to improve management and forecasting. Simultaneously, the Viet Industry – Cleanfact & RHVAC Vietnam 2026 exhibition launched in Hanoi, showcasing over 500 booths related to automation and construction, while VietnamPrintPack 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City focused on the printing and packaging supply chain.

Following these exhibitions, the country is expanding its startup ecosystem through regional forums and the upcoming TECHFEST Vietnam 2026. Initiatives include a forum in Ha Tinh Province focused on agricultural technology and market access, as well as the Ministry of Science and Technology’s TECHFEST event in Hanoi, which aims to connect international and domestic startups with capital and global markets.
