Vietnam theft and robbery incidents

Overview

In late July 2026 Vietnamese authorities reported a series of thefts across several provinces. On July 20, police in Quang Ngai’s Dung Quat Economic Zone arrested a 24‑year‑old worker who had stolen over 100 electrical modules worth more than 3 billion VND, while in Dong Tháp two youths were caught after breaking into stores and taking 45 iPhones valued at 456 million VND; the phones were recovered.

A few days later, on July 25‑26, a joint task force from Đồng Tháp and Tây Ninh provinces captured a 43‑year‑old man and two accomplices who had robbed a mobile phone and cash in Tây Ninh. The operation seized two motorcycles and additional stolen items, underscoring a coordinated police response to a wave of equipment and phone thefts across the Mekong Delta region.
