Transportation providers in Vietnam have progressed with preparations for the 2027 Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday travel period. Vietnam Airlines Group, including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco, has launched its first round of ticket sales for the peak period from January 22 to February 20, 2027, offering approximately 3.7 million seats, an 11% increase over 2026. Vietjet has also launched early sales for 3.1 million tickets, representing a 6% increase in capacity. Vietnam Railways (VNR) has officially transitioned to the sale of approximately 300,000 tickets for the service period spanning January 23 to February 25, 2027. To meet demand, the railway sector will deploy 57 trains with over 800 carriages, including regular Thong Nhat services and additional trains connecting provinces such as Da Nang, Vinh, Nha Trang, and Phan Thiet. To encourage rail travel, the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has introduced various discount programs, including up to 40% off select sleeper berths and round-trip incentives.
