To encourage rail travel, the Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has introduced various discount programs, including up to 40% off select sleeper berths and round-trip incentives.

Regarding the official holiday schedule, the Ministry of Home Affairs has submitted a proposal to the Government for a continuous 7-day break for civil servants and public employees, running from Thursday, February 4, to Wednesday, February 10, 2027. This includes the statutory 5-day period plus two compensatory days due to the holiday coinciding with weekends. The Ministry stated this arrangement aims to allow workers traveling from distant provinces more time to prepare for and celebrate the holiday. For the business sector, employers may choose between two flexible options for distributing days off at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year.
