Following the 2026 targets to reach 100% health insurance coverage by 2030, Vietnam has seen significant progress in student enrollment. As of late June 2026, coverage for students and university students reached 99.39%, totaling 21.55 million participants. To facilitate this expansion, the state budget has increased its contribution to student health insurance premiums from a minimum of 30% to at least 50%.
