Vietnam university assessment updates for 2027
Overview
Higher education institutions in Vietnam are implementing updated assessment formats and schedules for 2027 admissions.
Hanoi National University of Education announced that its 2027 SPT competency assessment exam will transition its multiple-choice section to a computer-based format to modernize data management. While most of the 12 subjects will be entirely computer-based, Mathematics and Literature will utilize a hybrid structure where multiple-choice questions are answered on a computer and essay questions remain on paper.
Concurrently, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology released the schedule for its 2027 Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA). This computer-based exam, which evaluates mathematical, reading, and scientific thinking, will be held across 11 provinces and cities. The university plans to use automated check-in processes linked to the national population database to prevent fraud.
