VinEnergo renewable energy projects in Vietnam
Overview
VinEnergo is expanding its renewable energy footprint across several Vietnamese provinces through solar and wind initiatives.
In Lai Chau province, the company is developing the Ban Chat 1 and Ban Chat 2 floating solar projects on the Ban Chat hydroelectric reservoir. These projects, which have a combined capacity of 550MW, are expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2028. To facilitate construction, a specialized 220-ton vessel was launched to assist with infrastructure and anchoring.
In the central highlands, VinEnergo is also advancing a 143 MW wind power plant project in Gia Lai province, which has received approval for project adjustments. Additionally, a 220 MW floating solar power plant project is under review in Dak Lak province on the Song Ba Ha hydropower reservoir.
