Violence in the Mexican state of Guanajuato has escalated, involving multiple municipalities and resulting in several fatalities and injuries to minors. In Pénjamo, gunmen on a motorcycle wounded a 54-year-old and a 20-year-old man in the Corral de Piedra neighborhood. A subsequent attack in the Jalisco alley area left a nine-year-old girl with a leg injury, though she was reported to be in stable condition. In Acámbaro, gunfire directed at homes in the downtown area injured a three-year-old girl, following a September 4 incident that killed four people and injured a five-month-old infant. By early October, a wave of attacks across four municipalities resulted in six deaths. In Valle de Santiago, the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered in plastic bags on the road to Yuriria, following the shooting of two men in the town center. In Salvatierra, two men were killed by armed individuals inside a butcher shop in Maravatío del Encinal. Additional killings were reported in Silao, where a shooting in the Guadalupe neighborhood left 30-year-old Luis Antoni “N” dead and another man seriously injured. In Celaya, gunmen on a motorcycle killed a man and his dog in the San Martín de Camargo community. Following a period of relatively lower fatalities between October 2 and October 4, where eight homicides were reported, violence surged again. Within a single 24-hour period, the State Attorney General's Office reported 12 murders across the state, including incidents in San Felipe, San Diego de la Unión, León, Irapuato, Salamanca, Celaya, and Tarimoro. In León, four deaths were recorded, while in Salamanca, a man and a woman were killed in the Barlovento neighborhood. In mid-October, a new wave of violence resulted in at least eight murders within a five-hour period across Pénjamo, Silao, and Salamanca.
