Violence incidents in Timișoara

Two separate incidents of physical violence were reported in Timișoara, Romania, involving adults and minors.

On October 4, a physical brawl broke out between parents during a U15 national junior handball match at the Constantin Jude Sports Hall. The altercation, sparked by dissatisfaction with refereeing decisions, occurred while players were on the court. The Romanian Handball Federation condemned the violence, and local police launched an investigation.

On October 14, a different confrontation occurred at Gymnasium School No. 15. A physical education teacher was involved in a violent altercation with a fifth-grade student, the student’s parents, and a relative. The conflict reportedly began after the teacher addressed the student’s behavior in class. Local police responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.
