Following an argument on Yunus Emre Avenue, 21-year-old Abdülkadir Çelik allegedly chased 24-year-old Muratcan Altun through the street before fatally shooting him in the chest with a pump-action shotgun. Bystander footage reportedly captured the pursuit. Although Çelik initially claimed to have discarded the weapon, police recovered the shotgun inside his residence. Upon his arrest, Çelik reportedly told the press, “He deserved it, brother, it was ~~necessary.”~~ necessary,” and “You give people what they deserve.” Law enforcement has processed seven suspects in connection with the incident; Çelik has been arrested on charges of intentional murder, while six others were released under judicial control.
