Model Vivian Jenna Wilson has fronted the autumn 2026 campaign for the Spanish fashion brand Desigual, titled ‘Born to Disobey’. The campaign uses imagery of Wilson interacting with humanoid robots to critique the rise of artificial intelligence and automation. Wilson has used the platform to voice opposition to generative AI, arguing that it displaces talented creators in the fashion industry, harms the environment, and replaces genuine human emotion with “plagiaristic colors and shapes.” In addition to her critique of technology, Wilson addressed social and political issues, stating that transgender individuals are being used as “scapegoats” to distract from economic and geopolitical concerns. She also urged the queer community to engage in political mobilization ahead of the US midterm elections. Promotional materials for the campaign feature Wilson interacting with a malfunctioning humanoid robot named DESI 84. In campaign videos, Wilson is depicted treating the machine in unconventional ways, such as using it as a golf tee or walking it on a leash, to highlight the robot's inability to perform tasks for which it was not trained. The campaign has drawn attention due to the contrast between Wilson’s stance on automation and the technological ventures led by her father, Elon Musk.
