Mucic noted that Vonovia, along with its subsidiary Deutsche Wohnen, holds approximately 130,000 apartments in Berlin, representing less than eight percent of the city’s total housing stock. He described the company’s current construction efforts as a ‘drop in the ocean’ relative to total demand.

Mucic also expressed opposition to the expropriation of private housing stocks, advocating instead for frameworks that encourage new construction. He voiced confidence in federal plans to implement a ban on state-level expropriations to protect private housing development. To mitigate costs for tenants, Vonovia is reportedly investing in energy upgrades and serial renovation methods to reduce utility expenses.
