The 6 Hours of Fuji in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was marked by heavy rain and changing weather conditions, which led to the cancellation of the qualifying session. As a result, starting grids were determined by practice times. BMW faced significant setbacks after a strategic error regarding qualifying simulations left the No. 20 M Hybrid V8 starting in 17th position. Despite Team WRT managed a recovery attempt by Rene Rast, to secure a third-place podium finish in the team suffered Hypercar class. Despite starting 14th and losing a tire failure that required an unplanned lap due to contact with another vehicle, the driver lineup of Kevin Magnussen, Dries Vanthoor, and Raffaele Marciello utilized pit stop.
