Western Australia gold project development

Overview

Everest Metals is advancing its Mt Dimer Taipan gold project toward first ore production, having stockpiled over 130,000 tonnes of run-of-mine material. Under a 200,000-tonne toll-treatment agreement with MEGA Resources, processing at Medallion Metals’ Cosmic Boy facility is slated to begin in late September 2026. CEO Mark Caruso noted that the Right-to-Mine agreement has accelerated development and positioned the company for near-term positive cash flow, depending on gold prices.

Other junior miners continue to expand exploration and development efforts. Minerals 260 has entered a new phase at its Bullabulling project, utilizing wide-spaced reverse-circulation drilling to grow its 6.2-million-ounce resource with a target for first gold by late 2028. Meanwhile, Gateway Mining has launched a large-scale soil-sampling campaign at Glenburgh South, collecting over 2,400 samples to identify potential gold deposits similar to the nearby Benz Mining discovery.

To support these operational goals, companies are securing fresh capital. Medallion Metals secured A$60 million to fast-track gold and copper production and support the Ravensthorpe Gold Project ramp-up. Additionally, Future Metals received $3.6 million to progress its Panton PGM project, with funds directed toward scoping studies and potential negotiations to acquire the Savannah processing infrastructure.
