Wichita Stryker Sports Complex vehicle crash

Overview

A vehicle crash occurred at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, during a youth soccer match on a Saturday afternoon. A black Chevrolet pickup truck drove onto the field, striking multiple people.

The incident resulted in the deaths of 6-year-old Adrian Cole and 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer. At least 10 to 11 people were injured, including five children aged between 5 and 9 years.

A 34-year-old female driver from Garden City was taken into custody but subsequently released without charges. Authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology testing and a mechanical inspection of the vehicle to determine if the crash was caused by a medical emergency, impairment, or mechanical failure. Investigators noted that the driver did not appear to brake before impact.

Following the event, all activities at the Stryker Sports Complex were canceled, and the Kansas State High School Activities Association suspended nearby flag football state competition matches.

Claims

What the coverage asserts, and how many sources carry each claim.

Coverage disagrees

Sources make claims that cannot both be true. CLSTR reports the disagreement; it does not decide who is right.

"The incident resulted in the deaths of 6-year-old Cole Adrian and 35-year-old Nicholas Schafer." www.europesays.com · www.rvmnews.com · notthebee.com

vs

"The victims, Cole Adrian and Nicholas Schafer, were residents of McPherson, Kansas." www.europesays.com · www.rvmnews.com

There is no contradiction; one claim identifies the victims by name and age, while the other identifies their residence.
