The Apple TV+ horror-comedy series ‘Widow’s Bay’ has been renewed for a second season following its debut, which earned 19 Emmy nominations. Set on a potentially cursed New England island, the series stars Matthew Rhys as Tom Loftis, a mayor attempting to turn the remote town into a tourist destination. Production details highlight a distinctive visual style designed to evoke ‘1970s classical cinema’. Cinematographer and producer Christian Sprenger, working with director Hiro Murai, utilized slow pacing, deliberate static shots, and traditional lighting to create a nostalgic aesthetic.
