Overview

Following the rollout, the Construction Industries Federation of Namibia (CIF) has called for a delay in enforcement. The CIF argues the policy does not sufficiently distinguish between transit freight and essential construction machinery, such as cranes and concrete trucks, which must access specific sites. The federation warned that the cumulative cost of application fees and monthly charges for large fleets could increase construction expenses and impact the delivery of urban infrastructure projects.
