Since early July 2026, Disney Japan has expanded its centennial campaign for A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh. The company named singers-actors Sakura Shou, Abe Ryohei and Kawashima Noe as “Pooh Time” ambassadors, promoting gentle “do-nothing” moments ahead of the official October 14 launch. Retail collaborations continue to expand. Loft is set to launch the ‘Disney Winnie the Pooh Sweet & Honey Collection by LOFT’ on September 19, 2026. This collection will feature 37 types of merchandise, including stationery, pouches, blankets, and hand cream sets, organized into muted and vivid color themes. Limited-edition plush toys and mascots will also be available through Loft and Ito-Yokado until November 1, 2026. Other ongoing anniversary activities include the Disney Harvest Market pop-ups, Daiso’s THREEPPY series, and the ‘OH MY CAFE’ locations. On September 15, Kodansha will release a special mook titled ‘Winnie the Pooh Original 100th Anniversary Goods Collection’, featuring 1,053 items such as commemorative coins and pure gold koban. Digital engagement has increased following the release of a Disney Japan vlog-style social media video depicting a day in the life of Winnie the Pooh. Additionally, the ‘SHOWER OF HEART - Kagayaku Hikari no Present -’ collaboration with figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu is scheduled to begin October 2 at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, touring six Japanese cities with over 100 types of limited-edition merchandise. As part of the Hanyu collaboration, a memory book titled ‘To Pooh: Yuzuru Hanyu and Winnie the Pooh Memory Book’ has been released. The set includes a Winnie the Pooh plushie dressed in replicas of Hanyu’s iconic skating costumes, such as ‘SEIMEI’ and ‘Ballade No. 1’, alongside a reproduction of a handwritten letter by Hanyu and a large B2 poster.
