The Winston-Salem Open ATP 250 tournament has seen several notable performances from both rising players and established seeds.

Australian 17-year-old Cruz Hewitt secured his second career ATP Tour main draw victory by defeating Sebastian Gorzny 1-6, 7-6(3), 6-4. Hewitt, who cited improvements in physical fitness and mental maturity, advanced to face Arthur Fery.

Other significant results include Quinn Vandecasteele, ranked No. 483, winning a three-set battle against Pierre-Hugues Herbert to enter the main draw. Additionally, 7th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced by defeating American Jenson Brooksby in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(8-6), emphasizing the role of mental strength during the match.

In a closely contested match lasting nearly two hours, Tsitsipas demonstrated resilience by saving three match points in the tenth game of the second set to force a tiebreaker. Following the win, Tsitsipas noted that mental attitude is the deciding factor during critical moments, stating, ‘It is a matter of mentality. Everyone can hit the ball, but when the moment is more critical, you have to step up.’
