Winter Park youth soccer dispute

Overview

A dispute at a youth soccer game in Winter Park, Florida, involving a three-year-old player named Nevada Pierre has drawn significant social media attention. The controversy began after the child reportedly scored 10 goals in 12 minutes during a match against five-year-olds. The child’s parents allege that tournament officials targeted and removed Nevada from the league because his high skill level caused frustration among opposing parents. They claim the family was issued a trespass notice and that police were called because the child was “too good.”

League director Thomas Hayes informed 911 dispatchers that the call was made because a parent was being “really, really disruptive” and following him. Hayes acknowledged the child’s talent, stating, “The kid is good. He’s great. Really good,” but maintained that the intervention was necessary due to allegations that the child was pushing other players. Winter Park Police Department responded to the scene and characterized the situation as a “civil matter,” noting that no arrests were made and no formal trespass warnings were issued.

Following the incident, Roc Nation Sports has reportedly expressed support for the toddler. Reports indicate the organization may fund a trip to Spain in December to provide Nevada with high-level athletic immersion. Additionally, former U.S. international Eddie Johnson has offered to assist with the boy’s development through his soccer academy in Orlando.
