Wisin's musical transition to Christian music

Overview

Puerto Rican singer Wisin has transitioned toward Christian music, a shift influenced by the loss of his daughter, Victoria, to Patau syndrome in 2016. Wisin has expressed how this tragedy and his subsequent spiritual journey have shaped his life and faith.

As part of this evolution, Wisin launched a new division of his music company, La Base, called Base de Fe, to support Christian music talent. He also released the single ‘A Dónde Iré’ featuring his daughter, Yelena. While Wisin initially expected Yelena to follow his urban music path, she has transitioned to the Christian genre and recently released her EP ‘Plenitud’.

Despite this religious musical focus, Wisin continues to see commercial success in other areas, recently selling out two consecutive performance dates at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico following his album ‘La Universidad del Perreo’.
