Following the global campaign for World Breastfeeding Week ~~2026 (1–7 August) saw a coordinated global push under the theme “Breastfeeding~~ 2026, themed ‘Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What ~~Works.” Led by the WHO, UNICEF, and WABA, the campaign addressed the gap between current exclusive breastfeeding rates (approximately 47%) and the WHO target of 60%. The event offered specialized advice and workshops, with officials stressing that ~~exclusive~~ breastfeeding ~~rates remain low at 19.2%. Meanwhile, Uruguay’s~~ is a ‘shared responsibility among families, health sectors, workplaces, and society’.
