Wrocław multi-purpose arena proposal
Overview
Authorities in Wrocław are evaluating a proposal for a new multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex located near the Tarczyński Arena. A feasibility study conducted by the firm Orison suggests the venue could accommodate over 24,000 spectators for concerts and 16,000 for sporting events. The study utilized Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and identified the site as advantageous due to its transport connectivity via rail, highway, bus, and tram.
The estimated cost of the project is 900 million PLN, covering approximately 105,500 square meters. The development aims to utilize a large vacant area adjacent to the existing arena. However, the project faces environmental challenges; research from the University of Wrocław has confirmed the presence of protected amphibians, such as newts and the natterjack toad, in the area. Future development may require environmental compensation and habitat restoration as directed by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection (RDOŚ).
