WWE Crown Jewel event programming

WWE has adjusted its creative direction for the Crown Jewel event. Initial plans for a six-man tag team match involving Penta, Je’Von Evans, Oba Femi, Bron Breakker, Austin Theory, and Bronson Reed were reportedly discarded. Instead, officials prioritized the World Tag Team Championship rivalry, resulting in a match where Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defend their titles against Penta and Je’Von Evans.

The event features several high-stakes championship matches, including a bout between Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, and a Women’s Crown Jewel Title match between Chelsea Green and Liv Morgan. There is also ongoing speculation regarding potential character shifts for performers such as Tiffany Stratton and LA Knight.

Recent reports have addressed rumors regarding CM Punk and Kevin Owens. Journalist Dave Meltzer dismissed claims that the two superstars refused to travel to Saudi Arabia for the event. Speculation had emerged because the pair is scheduled for a No Holds Barred match on the November 6 episode of SmackDown rather than appearing on the premium live event in Riyadh. Meltzer clarified that the match was never part of the original Crown Jewel card. While some talent may have expressed concerns regarding regional security and travel, no wrestlers have officially refused to participate. WWE parent company TKO stated they are monitoring the situation in the Middle East and have contingency plans in place.

In recent SmackDown tapings in Brooklyn, Kevin Owens defeated CM Punk in a No Holds Barred match using a steel chain. Other results included Shinsuke Nakamura defeating Tama Tonga and a chaotic Women’s Tag Team Championship match involving B-Fab, Michin, Fatal Influence, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley.
