Wyndham Rewards loyalty program updates

The Wyndham Rewards loyalty program, which utilizes fixed award redemption rates between 5,000 and 45,000 points per night, has undergone structural changes to its redemption model.

While lower-tier redemption requirements decreased from 7,500 to 5,000 points, the cost for top-tier properties increased by 50%, rising from 30,000 to 45,000 points per night. This shift in luxury redemption costs has led to comparisons regarding the program’s value against competitors such as Marriott Bonvoy.

To address member activity, the program has introduced targeted promotions. These include incentives such as 4,000 bonus points and 10 elite night credits toward status advancement, available to members via specific email invitations or account offers.

Building on these efforts, a new promotion has been announced to run from September 24, 2026, through January 19, 2027. The offer allows members to earn 4x base points on eligible stays, with bonus caps determined by membership status. Standard members can earn up to 15,000 bonus points, while Wyndham Rewards Insiders and certain credit cardholders may reach caps of 20,000 to 25,000 points. To qualify, members must register by January 15, 2027, and book through a direct channel. This promotion excludes Super 8 by Wyndham hotels in Mainland China.
