Xing Bai Chen public controversy and boycott

Overview

Chinese actor Xing Bai Chen has faced significant public backlash and boycotts following his success in the romance drama ‘Dun Chun Tian Liang’. The controversy stems from accusations that the actor exploited his character’s popularity to promote his real-life relationship with supermodel Liu Wen.

Tensions escalated after Xing Bai Chen attended a concert with Liu Wen, where comments made by singer Li Ronghao linking the actor’s real-life romance to his fictional persona angered fans. This led to widespread criticism of both the actor and Liu Wen.

In response to the controversy, fans of the drama have organized protests, including demands for refunds on VIP viewing packages for the series finale. Protesters expressed dissatisfaction that the actor’s public relationship negatively impacted the viewing experience of on-screen pairings. Amid the rising tension, Liu Wen reportedly altered her travel plans to Beijing to avoid further complications.
