Yellow Card stablecoin expansion

In late July 2026, Chris Maurice, CEO of Yellow Card, was highlighted as an influential figure in the stablecoin sector. The company had processed more than $7.5 billion in transactions over the previous year and was extending its services beyond Africa into Latin America, Southeast Asia and North America, backed by investors such as Polychain Capital and Coinbase Ventures and partnered with Visa, Mastercard and PayPal.

A week later, Yellow Card announced a $40 million funding round led by Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures and other strategic investors. The capital is earmarked to scale its Global USD Accounts platform and deepen its presence in Latin America and the Asia‑Pacific, bringing the firm’s total equity financing above $120 million. By this point the firm had processed over $10 billion, supported more than 50 currencies and held licences in 22 jurisdictions, reinforcing its role as a global stablecoin‑powered payments infrastructure.
