Youth programs and training in Tenerife

The municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the Cabildo de Tenerife have implemented various free programs aimed at local youth.

In July and August, the municipality provided summer activities including camping, hiking in the Anaga Natural Reserve, boat excursions, and creative workshops. Following these seasonal activities, the Cabildo de Tenerife announced a professional training initiative for residents aged 16 to 35.

This initiative, titled ‘Cultural Event Management: Resources for Cultural Programming’, is a 40-hour hybrid course scheduled to run from September 1 to September 30. The program consists of 32 hours of online learning and eight hours of in-person sessions at the Youth Information Center. The curriculum focuses on practical tools for planning, organizing, and coordinating cultural activities, such as event organization techniques and information management.

Serafín Mesa, the Counselor for Training and Youth, stated that the initiative aims to provide young people with professional competencies in the growing cultural and creative industries, which generate significant economic activity. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis with limited spots available.
