A report by the Observatorio de la Deuda Social Argentina (ODSA) at the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), titled ‘Juventudes desiguales: entre la promesa y la exclusión’, highlights severe labor instability among those aged 18 to 25. Only 14.2% of this demographic holds formal employment with full rights. The remaining population is characterized by high rates of inactivity (36.6%), irregular or seasonal work (22.5%), and long-term unemployment (10.7%).

Socioeconomic status heavily influences these outcomes. Regular employment rates drop from 38.9% in middle-high income households to 19.7% in very low-income households. The ‘NiNi’ population—those who neither study nor work—reaches 34.2% in low-income households compared to 8.3% in middle-high households. Educational access remains deeply divided: while 69% of youth from middle-high strata have initiated or completed higher education, 64.7% of those from the lowest stratum have failed to complete mandatory schooling.
