YouTube TV and ESPN Unlimited integration

YouTube TV has completed the integration of ESPN Unlimited directly into its platform. This development follows a distribution agreement reached between Disney and Google last year and follows previous carriage disputes that had caused temporary blackouts of Disney channels on the service.

Subscribers can now access ESPN content, including live coverage of events like the US Open, college football, the PGA Tour, LaLiga, and out-of-market NHL games, as well as the ‘30 for 30’ documentary library. The integration includes platform features such as unlimited DVR, multiview, and live stats. Enhanced viewing options are available for certain broadcasts, such as alternate camera angles, different languages, and home or away team feeds.

Furthermore, the YouTube TV interface has been updated with a dedicated network row and a live guide. The platform’s ‘Fantasy View’ feature now supports ESPN Fantasy Football, allowing users to link accounts for real-time stat updates during live NFL broadcasts. This rollout occurs as Disney prepares to increase the standalone price of ESPN Unlimited from $29.99 to $31.99 per month, effective September 17.
