Yuseong-gu local government administration and development

Yuseong-gu has demonstrated significant administrative and developmental progress. The district was recognized at the ‘2026 Korea City Awards’ with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award, marking the second consecutive year it has been selected as an outstanding local government. This distinction was based on evaluations of urban sustainability and living infrastructure across sectors including urban society, economy, environment, and support systems.

Following this recognition, the local government reached its 100-day milestone by advancing five major administrative goals. These initiatives include the establishment of a regional investment fund of up to 50 billion won to support the startup ecosystem and global companies. To facilitate these objectives, the district implemented organizational restructuring, creating specialized teams for science startup innovation and data policy. Additionally, Mayor Jeong Yong-rae introduced administrative reforms aimed at reducing unnecessary customs to prioritize resident communication and field-based policy implementation.
