Zeevonk offshore wind farm development
Overview
Boskalis has been awarded a contract for the Zeevonk offshore wind farm project in the Dutch North Sea. This project is a joint venture between Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The contract involves the transport and offshore installation of approximately 149 kilometers of 66 kV inter-array cables to connect 69 wind turbines for Phase 1.
Boskalis intends to use the BOKA Ocean vessel for cable transport from Eemshaven and will utilize subsea rock installation vessels for seabed intervention. Phase 1 is expected to reach commercial operation in 2029. Once both phases of the project are finished, the wind farm will have a total capacity of approximately 2 GW.
